had 185 fights with only 16 losses. One streak
of 47 straight wins. Retired to Hot Springs
and served 25 years as a distinguished fire fighter.

Freeman was a determined and capable fighter who won the Welterweight Championship of the World; He had a lengthy career of nearly 220 contests and lost only 21; He was rated by The Ring magazine as a Top Ten Welterweight contender from 1926-1931; Over the years, he has been vastly underrated.
