-Most homebuyers will need financing
for the purchase of their new
home.-
-Many loan products are
available today that were not available in the past.-
Obtaining a Prequalification
Letter from a lender will help you in several ways:
You can house-hunt with
confidence; sure you are looking at homes that you qualify for.
Reviewing your credit
report with your lender as part of your Prequalification
process can identify any erroneous information (incorrect information is
not uncommon) that may appear on your report early in the process.
The real estate agent
you are working with can better serve you, sure that he/she is
showing you homes in the right price range.
You will have a strong negotiating
advantage when you have decided on a house you want. In
considering the terms of your offer, the Seller will not have to wonder
whether or not you will qualify for financing.
If
there are competing offers for the same property at the same time, a Prequalification
Letter might mean that your proposal is accepted over an equal (or even a
better offer) from a competing Buyer whose ability to obtain financing is
unconfirmed.
