Acceptable Use Policy and Terms of Service

Usage of Randori News Servers, our USENET News provider, constitutes acceptance of this policy.

1. Internet Connections, Inc. has contracted with Randori to provide USENET News services. Internet Connections, Inc. will make every reasonable effort to insure that this service is available to our customers, but makes no warranties, expressed or implied, for this service, including, but not limited to, the service's availability, speed, usefullness, or fitness for any particular purpose.
2. Randori will employ its very best efforts to provide quality service and to keep all services up and running at all times. However, we rely on our suppliers and thus cannot guarantee the quality or availability of the service. We have no way of knowing what events could occur that are beyond our control.
3. Speed and system performance are very important and Randori will do its utmost to continue to upgrade our server to keep the access speed as high as possible. There will be times when a greater population of the subscriber base will access the service and at this time the service performance may degrade to some degree.
4. Newsgroups carried on Randori USENET News Services will vary over time. We reserve the right to create or remove newsgroups, as we determine necessary, on a routine basis. Typically, USENET is self-policed and we try to stay with the conventional wisdom about a newsgroup's right to exist. However, as long as a group is not an obvious spam-trap or a joke-name newsgroup, then we are happy to add any newsgroup. The content of all newsgroups, including without limitation the descriptions for newsgroups and the content within a specific article, is provided by and is the responsibility of the creator of the discussion group or the person posting an article. Randori News takes NO responsibility for such content and is merely a conduit for USENET articles.
5. Randori News is not responsible for the content of news articles, nor do articles express the opinions of Randori or our staff. We also recognize USENET news as a discussion amongst a broad cross section of the population and, therefore, we do not recommend this service for unsupervised use by minors. We do not believe in the exploitation of minors and any posts of child pornography are illegal and such abuse will not be tolerated.
6. Spam, defined as commercial messages posted to non-commercial newsgroups, off-topic posts to a newsgroup, or large-scale redundant posts, are not permitted on Randori. Spamming is not consistent with responsible newsgroup participation and subscriptions of members posting SPAM messages will be terminated with no refund and a possible cleanup charge (see below). We urge you to read the FAQs posted in the newsgroups news.announce.newusers and news.admin.net-abuse.
7. Abuse of the service, including but not limited to, spamming, trolling, abusing the privileges or harrassment of other subscribers or netizens, or any type of illegal material, such as child-pornography, is unacceptable. Abuse may occur in many forms and is left up to Randori to decide.

   Other examples of abuse are: posting offensive articles in clearly inappropriate newsgroups (e.g., pornographic material posted in Disney or K12 groups), posting harassing and/or potentially libelous messages, also known as trolling, to the Internet using the Randori News servers, attempting to hack into the Randori News servers, posting SPAM, reselling the news, using automated software to "slurp" massive quantities of news articles, etc.

8. The determination of whether or not abuse has taken place is left up to Randori to decide. Abuse of the service or other violation of this policy will result in the revocation of your posting privledges or the termination of your account with NO REFUND. Flagrant abuse of the service (in our opinion) will result in a "cleanup charge" to you in the amount of $50.00 per hour for our time spent cancelling the offending post(s) and dealing with the email complaints we will receive, or killing processes due to automated programs.
9. This policy is subject to change without notice.
10. I confirm and certify that I and anyone using my account to access this service is at least 18 years of age or is supervised by an adult at all times while accessing this service.
